“A family is a unit composed not only of children but of men, women, an occasional animal, and the common cold.” ( Ogden Nash). But what about when there are two mothers and there is no father, or two fathers and no mother? Is it correct? Is it dangerous for a child’s health? There are some reasons to say that adoption of children by homosexual couples is not a correct action.
According to social science evidences the best environment for the well-being children is a household with both, mother and father. So why not give kids the best possible chance to have a normal and healthy family life instead of using a new cultural statement. In addition they need to realize about their mother and father and the relationship between them and the love that they can give to the children. Moreover children of a normal family know what their role inside the society is.
Having homosexual couples as parents is more likely that children get involved in an homosexual behavior. In a study published by the Development Psychology of London (1996) they found that children who raise in an homosexual environment are much likely to experiment with homosexual behavior themselves.
On the other hand, some researchers have found that lesbians and gay men are not unfit to be parents, but according to Bozzett (1991) stability is the key to raise a child with an emotional and mentally health (missing a noun here) because unmarried and homosexual partners cannot provide the stability that married heterosexual couples can give, since the fact of being an homosexual person demonstrates that they do not accept who they are and what they really want for their lives.
As a conclusion, the American Psychological Association says that “the push for homosexual couples to jointly adopt children is actually a back-door strategy to gain rights and benefits of homosexual “marriage”. So it is important that children be protected of this kind of actions because it is difficult for a child to understand what happens with homosexual people and they just tend to imitate what they see, and it will be a chain. I think people should fight for the respect to their families and implement values to avoid this kind of situations.
Hi Jessie, I think you did some research about the topic which is good. Nevertheless, in my opinion, your arguments need some more support or evidence. Maybe give some examples of what for you a normal family is, what is the stability that married heterosexual couples can give as opposed to gay couples, etc…The coherence is good and just some minor cohesion problems but in general good work!

ResponderEliminarYou did an excellent essay about an interesting topic. But you should add more details, and stronger arguments. Also you need to support the arguments you are giving. Be careful with the size of the paragraphs. It is very understandable, because you linked very well your ideas.
Nice job!
